I notice everything is stored in a file any chance it would be easy to move the text into the database or setup language files so that joomfish would work for those of us that have a mult-lingual site.
Hi kevincam,
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with JoomFish at all. As such, I'm not sure what is involved with putting all the text in the database, etc.
I do believe the way the component configuration works now is probably the best method for most users. As it stands, anyone can change ALL the front end text for the component to be whatever they choose. Granted it may not be 'multi-language' friendly, but it works quite well for a specific individual language.
I am thinking of porting the component into a module. If I get that done, then a possible option could be to have multiple instances of a module - each with a specific language. In your site template you could have a filter to display whichever 'instance' is required based on the language selected by the user. Does that make sense?
Sorry I couldn't help out further...

ok, I understand but if you have time take a look at joomfish, it's very popular and probably the #1 multi-lingual component, and a currency coverter by it's nature means probably another language since you're likely to be looking at currencies where another language is spoken. I think if you did the module that would work because you're right there is another module out there that loads other modules based on language. Thanks for the reply, I'll be on standby for the future module.
Hi again kevincam,
Thanks for understanding. I've actually just done some very priminary testing and it looks like a module might be on it's way sooner than later... stand by
Do you happen to know the name (and/or download link) of the module you mentioned that can load a specific module based on the user selected language? Could be helpful.
Thanks!
Don
Thanks for the link kevincam.
I'll have a look at it in the next couple days and see if I can incorporate something from it into the module I will be developing shortly.
Cheers!

Hi again kevincam,
Just wanted to let you know that your wish was our command. We now have a currency converter module available!! And it's even better than the component!
