What is wrong ?
Hi tarundas,

Welcome to the Forums!

I've never heard of this problem before - not quite sure what could be wrong. Maybe some more info would be helpful:

What kind of server are running on? Who is your website hosted with? The component uses info from Yahoo Finance and maybe your server/host doesn't like that it 'fetches' the needed conversion rates from a different server...

Have you had problems with any other components?

Can you provide a link so I could have a peek at what might be happening? (send me a private message if you want to keep the link confidential).

Thanks!

D-Mack
Hi D-Mack,
Thanks for your reply. I have only 3 other components installed and they are working fine. It's hosted on phpnet.us. it's a Linux server. Since my site in under construction I am sending you the link in PM.

Well, I did a fresh Joomla 1.5.3 Installation on http://aoi.byethost18.com/. no components installed. no extensions and no plugins ...the problem persists.

Blank Menu Item Type:
I tested it with three different hosts and different websites...everywhere it does not show the menu item type (pic attached) ...maybe this is the source of problem

Hi D-Mack,
I have sent you one of the administrator password of Jooma! site in your PM to check it out .

Hi tarundas,

I went to your main site, and the admin site, but didn't have much luck with resolving the issue. This is the first I've ever heard of it.

It does seem that everthing works as it should with the component ** except for 'fetching' the Yahoo Finance currency conversion rates ** This sort of leads me to believe your website host may have a restriction or block on accessing info through other domains (on different servers) - you'll have to check with them...

Wish I could be more heplful, but unfortunately that's all I have right now!

D-Mack

P.S. One other user has mentioned the 'lack of' a Menu Item Type - I believe that the Menu Item Type, where you pointed to in your screen shot, does not have anything to do with the functionality of component itself. It is merely a title/identifier. I actually don't know why it doesn't show up but will work on fixing that issue...
